I’m very happy to be able to share my latest design in one of my favorite categories, the Micro Album. This one I’m calling a Harmonica Micro, by which I mean that each of its four page assemblies consists of harmonica-style panels, held together with a cute and practical belly band.
You only need two 12×12″ sheets of double-sided design paper to decorate, which makes it a very frugal little project. 🙂
So check out the video for all of the details, and if you’d like to make it yourself, an elaborate tutorial is available for you in my shop.
Back in 2015 I came up with a cute little micro album in a box. That was years before I made tutorials, and at the time I got many requests to do one. It took some time, but I finally came around to it and this week I’m sharing the end result.
The box that holds the gatefold micro album opens like an explosion box, so there’s a bonus for you. The album itself sports four updated page designs, since I’ve learned a lot since then 🙂
You can of course choose any theme for your project; mine is romantic vintage, with Rose Fields papers by 13@rts.
So enjoy the video and if you’d like to make this yourself, now you can for you can find the tutorial in my shop.
Here’s a fun Christmas holiday project, which will be easy to take with you in your purse because it’s relatively small. It will hold at least 47 pictures, which is perfect not only for said Christmas holidays 🙂 but also for all other occasions, like birthday events, weddings, baby’s first year, summer vacations, back-to-school brag books, remembrance of loved ones and – why not – rock concerts or visits to the zoo 🙂
The only thing you’d have to change to achieve all of those are your paper collections – and we all know What Fun that is! 🙂 Mine was the Wassail collection by Basic Grey, an older collection not available anywhere anymore I think, but you can of course substitute any awesome Christmas collection you like.
So watch the video to find the inspiration to create one yourself, or help yourself to my written pdf tutorial, sporting 70 pages with step-by-step explanations and 160 clear pictures. This makes it absolutely suitable for beginners as well.
Recently I finished creating and editing my latest video course, on how to create a micro album! It’s based on my original Fresh & Bright micro album, but with Moda Scrap’s very cute The Color of Puppies paper pad.
With the purchase of your video course you get the original PDF-tutorial as a free bonus. You can of course watch the video lessons as often as you like, no limits there!
This baby boy version is actually kind of a sequel, for 2 years ago his granny commissioned a baby girl version for his (then expected) sister. Needless to say that these are the cutest of projects, both because they are tiny and because the paperlines are all so darned adorable 🙂
So, enjoy this demo video, and check out my shop for either the PDF tutorial (#18a) or the video course (#18b)!
Tadaaa, it’s finally here: my Summer Album Box Set! I started working on this somewhere in March, presented the first of the two minis in April, and shortly after that fell into the Abyss of Crafter’s Block. But now I’ve re-surfaced and I’m proud to present to you the finished project!
For the accompanying 4-tutorial set, check out Tutorial #45 in my webshop. You get a lot of bang for your buck, for you get 170 pages and almost 400 (!) very clear pictures guiding you through the steps, for all of you visual learners. Of course a supply list is provided as well, plus links to my video tutorials showing you techniques you can use while creating this album set yourself.
Perhaps you’ve noticed by now that I haven’t posted weekly videos for a little while anymore. I’m still trying to post something on the blog, but there isn’t always video footage to accompany it. The reason is that for the last 8-9 months my focus has been elsewhere: my health. I’ve worked hard at getting healthy and as a result also lost 31 kilos (68.3 lbs) of weight! I may do a vlog episode on how and why I did that, if anyone is interested.
Anyway, that meant a new obsession, and as a result less time and energy to spend on papercrafting. Be that as it may, I’m still working on designing new projects, albeit slower and less frequently.
Like the one I’m sharing this week: it’s a special design of mini album, with a deep box pocket and only ONE hinge for the three pages. It’s part of a larger design, an actual 2-album box set, but I haven’t finished that yet.
For this first of the two albums I used Studiolight’s Celebrate Spring paper collection, including their usual accompanying punch-outs and die-cuts, which are great decorations. I also used leftovers from several other paper collections, since the dimensions of the album (12 x 14.5 x 6.5 cm / 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 x 2 1/2″) allowed me to make good use of the relatively small scraps of those other papers.
Enjoy the video and pictures, and do leave a comment below this post if you feel so inclined! 🙂
Up until now my explosion boxes had always had at least two layers of decorated cardstock, oftentimes even three. This week however I’m sharing a different kind of explosion box:
it has only one layer;
it only needs two sheets of double-sided design paper to make and decorate
The two sheets I used were from the Vintage Circus collection by Scrapberry’s, which has beautiful muted tones, giving it a vintage yet colorful atmosphere. I decorated with fussy-cut bits from the design paper – and, I admit, a tiny little bit of colored cardstock to diecut some curls.
In its center it sports a tiny paper box with some birds and butterflies ‘flying away’ from it, and in its center there’s a ‘floating’ micro book with some actual pages!
So there’s an idea for an alternative birthday card, which mine is going for. You can’t mail it of course, you’ll have to hand it out yourself – but that only adds to the fun! 🙂
If you’d like to make one yourself, I offer a very elaborate pdf tutorial with dozens and dozens of clear pictures in my webshop.
You’ve probably seen a tri-shutter card before – and if not, check out mine here, here and here 😉 – but this week I’m showing you a different kind. This one is Bigger & Better, and it has actual chipboard covers! 😃 It offers room for 10 wallet-sized pictures and/or journalling spots, and is an ideal birthday card to give in person.
Check out the video and pictures below to see what it looks like, and don’t forget to like & subscribe to my blog if you don’t want to miss any of my weekly posts.
This week I’m sharing a new design, consisting of three parts. It’s a little book stack, consisting not of books but of two handmade chipboard boxes, filled with a mini folio and three mini booklets respectively. The technique I used to create the boxes is different from my usual way of making them, so there’s something new there as well for everyone who already purchased my other box tutorial.
And since I just had my birthday, I’m offering all three of these projects as one tutorial set, so a buy-3-pay-only-1 kind of thing! 🙂
The papers and flowers I worked with are from Prima Marketing’s Bella Rouge collection. I wanted to design a project specifically suited for 4×6″ journalling cards / project life cards, to offer you all a somewhat more affordable option since these cards tend to be not as expensive as actual paper pads. And I succeeded wonderfully well!
So enjoy the video and pictures below, and go for the tutorial set if you’d like to make it yourself.
If you’d like an idea of how this would look when filled with pictures and journalling, check out this post!
Happy New Year everyone! May 2019 bring you closer to your hopes and dreams than you have ever been, taking the first steps to turning them into reality!
Me, I’m kicking off the new year with some plans of my own, though I haven’t worked them out in detail yet. For instance, I’d like to add some new elements to my Youtube content – about which I’m talking in more detail in the video below, and I’d love to hear you all’s opinion by the way!
As a first project share, I’m showing a new photo storage box I created for Nora, for whom I’ve made two other projects: the Remember Me box pocket album, and the Beautiful Dreamer folio album. For this box I used the gorgeous Beautiful Dreamer papers again, by Bo Bunny.
All of my boxes are very sturdy and the lids close tightly. If you’d like to make some of your own, check out my elaborately detailed tutorial! It comes with two free bonus cutting guides for different sizes. I’m confident that once you’ve made all three of those boxes, you can design a box of any size you need!
And: because my birthday is January 11th, I’m celebrating it with you all by offering you a 40% discount on all of the tutorials in my shop, from January 11-13th! So don’t hesitate any longer and grab this – only once a year – chance!
Have fun watching the video – you’ll see me on camera again, which is one of the changes I’m implementing in 2019 (not sure if that’s a recommendation… let me know in the comment section below! 😉)
Have the Merriest of Christmases you all! 🎉 For that occasion I am giving you, if not a Christmas present, then at least a First: you get to see me in the video, not just my hands! 😃
Another extra is that you’re getting not one but two videos this week! For I’m also sharing a project with you. It’s a new design, and I’m calling it a Tag Wallet Card – for it’s a wallet, holding tags, that you can put into an envelope and send out as a card. And of course I’ve also written an easy to follow – and very affordable – tutorial for you, loaded with very clear step-by-step pictures. It’s already waiting for you in my webshop.
The thing is that I already uploaded the project share video a couple of months ago, in the beginning of October, so my Youtube subscribers have probably already seen it. But I couldn’t share it on my blog back then, since my mom is following this blog – Hi mom! 🙋🏻 – and this particular tag wallet was meant for her as the most elaborate Christmas card I have ever made 🙂
This project was also featured as a Guest Designer project for Crealies.
The beautiful papers I used are by Graphic 45, from the Winter Wonderland collection plus one sheet from the Time to Flourish collection. If you purchase my tutorial you’ll also get a supply list with the names of each individual design paper sheet.
So, enjoy at least one and perhaps even both videos, and especially your holidays! 🤶
This week I’m sharing a reprisal of my Folio Album III design, originally called Mimosa. It was commissioned by Nora, the German lady for whom I also created the Remember Mebox pocket album. Nora loves many things, among which cats, hot air balloons, old books and the color purple. For this new, elaborately decorated version of my Folio Album III therefore, I used Bo Bunny’s gorgeous 2016 collection Beautiful Dreamer, with themes of hot air balloons, bicycles, birds, books and old clocks, in nostalgic warm purples, greens and golden browns.
This folio album has a very flexible spine, sports many photo flaps and mini wallets and will hold about 65-70 pictures. Its main feature however is that you can entirely separate the book from its cover! 🙂
Check out my (written) tutorial if you want to create one yourself. It has very clear instructions and is illustrated by 255 pictures of the step-by-step process for all of you visual learners. It also comes with an bonus materials list for this Beautiful Dreamer version!
Enjoy the video of my project share and feel free to leave a comment or question below!
