Merry Christmas to You All + Introducing a Tag Wallet Christmas Card

Have the Merriest of Christmases you all! 🎉 For that occasion I am giving you, if not a Christmas present, then at least a First: you get to see me in the video, not just my hands! 😃

Another extra is that you’re getting not one but two videos this week! For I’m also sharing a project with you. It’s a new design, and I’m calling it a Tag Wallet Card – for it’s a wallet, holding tags, that you can put into an envelope and send out as a card. And of course I’ve also written an easy to follow – and very affordable – tutorial for you, loaded with very clear step-by-step pictures. It’s already waiting for you in my webshop.

The thing is that I already uploaded the project share video a couple of months ago, in the beginning of October, so my Youtube subscribers have probably already seen it. But I couldn’t share it on my blog back then, since my mom is following this blog – Hi mom! đŸ™‹đŸ»Â – and this particular tag wallet was meant for her as the most elaborate Christmas card I have ever made 🙂

This project was also featured as a Guest Designer project for Crealies.

The beautiful papers I used are by Graphic 45, from the Winter Wonderland collection plus one sheet from the Time to Flourish collection. If you purchase my tutorial you’ll also get a supply list with the names of each individual design paper sheet.

My Folio Album Design III: Beautiful Dreamer Version

This week I’m sharing a reprisal of my Folio Album III design, originally called Mimosa. It was commissioned by Nora, the German lady for whom I also created the Remember Me box pocket album. Nora loves many things, among which cats, hot air balloons, old books and the color purple. For this new, elaborately decorated version of my Folio Album III therefore, I used Bo Bunny’s gorgeous 2016 collection Beautiful Dreamer, with themes of hot air balloons, bicycles, birds, books and old clocks, in nostalgic warm purples, greens and golden browns.

This folio album has a very flexible spine, sports many photo flaps and mini wallets and will hold about 65-70 pictures. Its main feature however is that you can entirely separate the book from its cover! 🙂

Check out my (written) tutorial if you want to create one yourself. It has very clear instructions and is illustrated by 255 pictures of the step-by-step process for all of you visual learners. It also comes with an bonus materials list for this Beautiful Dreamer version!

Double Take – a Mini Album for 4×6″ pictures

This week I’m sharing my latest mini album with you all. It’s designed specifically to hold 4×6″ (10×15 cm) pictures, without it being too large or bulky. I always like my albums nice and ready to take with me 🙂

The design collection I used was the lovely Spring Market by Carta Bella, sponsored by Scrapworld, an internationally selling papercraft supply store located in the Netherlands.

This is a fun little album, I really enjoyed creating it, and despite of its moderate size it will hold at least 65 pictures, probably even more!

New Adventure: My Own Patterned Paper Templates!

Well, the title is already teasing it: I’ll be expanding on my creative adventures – by designing my own patterned paper templates and offering them as downloadable printables! 🙂

What that means is that I’m experimenting with digital scrapbooking and graphic design, to come up with my own project templates. And I’m starting off with not one but two Box card Printables!

Now these are not templates in the sense of having visible cutting & scoring lines or some such. The reason I’m calling it a box card patterned paper template is that you will not need any (!) cardstock to create your box card, because I came up with a double-sided design paper that will work perfectly with the cuts and folds of any box card.

Note that it will take at least medium level paper crafters for the printable to work without a tutorial. Therefore I have added a bonus tutorial and a bonus cutting guide to my regular Box Card Tutorial (#26), specifically for these printable patterned paper templates. Those of you who have already purchased this tutorial are in luck, for they will be able to download the extra guides at no additional cost! 🙂

Holiday Dreams Album – with Pictures + Printed Journalling

A little while ago I designed and created a Double-Paged Gatefold Album that I called Holiday Dreams – or for clarity’s sake, Vacation Dreams. I had some sunny and exotic photos in mind when I created it, and this week I’m happy to be able to share it with you again, but this time with pictures! 🙂

I’m also sharing a great tip for your large photo mats: leave them unmatted and turn them into printed journalling – so cool! You can check it all out in the video & pictures below.

New Design: Envelope Folio Albums!

The envelope mini album is a fairly well-known phenomenon in the scrapbooking world, but this week I’m sharing my own unique design variety, which I’m calling the Envelope Folio Album.

I designed two different versions, mostly by accident for I aimed at only one 🙃, and while I was at it I prepared two pdf tutorials, which I’m offering as one tutorial set. Take advantage of the EASTER SALE I’m running until Monday April 2nd, for you’ll get a 15% discount on all of my tutorials!

Each of my spring-themed Envelope Folio Albums consists of eight envelopes, either square or rectangular – that’s up to you – and only a little bit of cardstock for the photo mats & wallets.

The square one is perfect for your 6×6″ paper pads – I don’t know about you but I have like a ton of those in my stash! – and for the rectangular one only 7 sheets of 12×12″ design paper are enough. So both iterations of this design keep the costs of creating them relatively low, especially when compared to a mini album!

These designs are really fun, for they offer lots of hidden nooks & crannies for pictures and memorabilia, for they sport lots of flaps and pockets. They make great original gifts and are of course easily customizable by simply choosing papers & embellishments in the theme of your choosing.

Zoo Adventure – a Folders & Pockets Album

I was pondering a new design of mini album, one that would not only be able to hold a lot of pictures, but would also make it easy to add still more pictures that you forgot in your first round of filling the album. Eventually I came up with this week’s project: the Folders & Pockets Album! 

With this fun new design you’ll be able to shuffle the pictures in your album at any moment, and add to their number endlessly. Also, of course, these same folders and pockets offer plenty of easy room for your tickets, receipts and other memorabilia! No more tedious glueing your pictures to the pages, just stick them into the folders and pockets and be done with it 🙂

Three All Occasions Folios

As I promised you last week, I have now made the tutorials available for the three photo folios I shared with you in my previous blog posts. Two of them were part of a pre-made collection folio – you can check out last week’s video to refresh your memory. And the third and smallest one went with my Box Pocket Mini Album, which you can find in last year’s Christmas album post.

I’ve actually listed a tutorial set in my shop, for your convenience. It contains two tutorials plus a cutting guide with some different measurements & extra instructions – so three downloadable files, one for each of the folios in the picture above!

Gift idea: Mini Album Card!

Special occasions require special cards, and with this interactive wallet card you can go many directions. To give you some examples, my first card of this design had an Encouragement theme, the second version commemorated the first year since my father’s passing.

This week I’m sharing a third way you can use this card: as a mini album card, to send (or give in person) someone some pictures of dearly remembered moments you shared with them! Which is perfect for someone who really already has everything they ever wanted – I mean do you really need to give them more ‘stuff’? I’m convinced that memories in the form of pictures – nicely done up – will always be much appreciated, and also add that extra personal touch to your gifts.
This design offers room for 6-8 pictures and of course a personal message.

Stacks of Love: a Stacked Page Mini Album – Tutorial version

Several weeks ago I shared my first stacked page mini album with you, an experiment with a different kind of binding system than I had been used to. For instead of the hidden hinge system, this one is based on stacked pages – hence the name… 🙂

It is not my invention, I’m not sure whose it is. I’m guessing it’s most likely based on Laura Denison’s stack the deck binding system, on which someone then elaborated.

Anyway, I did add a personal flavour, for my stacked page albums have twelve pages instead of the usual six – so 24 page surfaces! – but with a regular-sized spine. You can see the first iteration of this album in the above-mentioned earlier blog post, created with the Domestic Goddess collection by 7 Dots Studio.

This week I’m sharing the version on which I based my tutorial. This album is somewhat larger, has more elaborate page designs and sports several photo mats and tags, the latter – among others – by Crealies. The album was made with Prima Marketing’s lovely Tales of You & Me collection. I’m calling this version the ‘Stacks of Love’ mini album 🙂

The tutorial is listed in my Etsy shop. It is a (written) English language tutorial with measurements in centimeters and inches. It is 130 pages long and holds 324 clear pictures aimed at visual learners. As a bonus it also contains the main measurements for the Domestic Goddess version!
Moreover, I’m very happy to be able to point you to the kit that is available for this album as well! Go to the (US-based!) Photographs and Memories online store, where you will find kits for several of my projects, including this one.

A Double-paged Keepsake Album

I designed this new mini album around three criteria: its dimensions should be something like 15×15 cm (6×6″),  it should have two spines and each spine should hold its own set of pages.

My creative process ended up with me coming up with this 14.5×17 cm (5Ÿ x 6Ÿ”) gatefold mini album, in the fresh colors of Kaisercraft’s Ubud Dreams collection – colors that remind me of the sea and small mediterranean villages 🙂 Which is why I’m dubbing this my Holiday Dreams keepsake album.
And guess what, Ubud turns out to be a town on the Indonesian island of Bali! Okay, so not the Mediterranean but still: Holidays galore 🙂

The album holds seven interactive page assemblies with all new page designs, four attached to the left spine and three to the right; the inside covers offer even more room for pictures.

Timeless – a Fun & Unique Wallet Card

A while ago I designed an interactive wallet card that perfectly fits your 6×6″ paper pads. It takes 9-10 sheets of paper for one card – which is perfect especially if you like projects that help you destash a bit (for all of you Paper Hoarders in denial out there 🙂 ).

For the first edition of this card I used a Kaisercraft paper collection, which I like because practically all of their collections come with die-cuts and sentiment ATC cards. That is why I chose Kaisercraft for this second wallet card as well. The Time Machine collection is a mostly masculine collection – stunning with its sophisticated darks and teals and beautiful specialty papers.
