Mailable Vintage Tea Booklet

Stamperia have come out with some gorgeous vintage and steampunk paper collections. I’ve been working with four of those collections for my latest mini album, which I’ll be showcasing here soon.😃

In the meantime I’ll be showing you some smaller projects I’ve been working on with said papers.

Take this cutie. Since I love to send a friend some tea – kind of a hug-in-a-mug – I created this lovely little Tea Booklet. For its front, back & spine I made use of a pre-imaged paper sheet Stamperia provided in their Lady Vagabond collection.

I matted the inside of the booklet with some beautiful patterns and decorated with some fussy-cut elements.

Added some Glossy Accents by Ranger for a shiny highlight

My spine was 5/8″ (1.5 cm) wide to accomodate a bag of fresh tea. You can make the spine as wide or as narrow as you need. The narrower the spine, the easier it fits into a normal envelope. However, if like me you’d like to send out some tea, you’ll need a little width.

Photo Gift Booklet

From a very sunny Portugal ☀️ I’m sharing this new Photo Gift Booklet, which I created with some cardstock and a couple of sheets from DCWV’s Colorful Life paper collection. It is custom-fit to hold four 9×13 cm (3½ x 5⅛”) pictures. You only need four pieces of design paper of that same size for the covers, and your’re done!

Being a hybrid between a card and a small photo album this little booklet is the perfect gift to send over the mail to your far away friends & relatives! ?

Two Tiny but Practical Micro Pocket Books

If you want to use up your scraps but are not in the mood for the umpteenth card 😉 , why not try a micro booklet!

After having designed and created a new Removable Folio Album, plus a card 😉 , I was very happy to give my micro pocket book design a second iteration.

S.E.I.’s beautiful Mimosa papers gave this project a lovely and very sophisticated summer feel, and these cute little things make perfect alternatives for birthday cards!

Fun little micro wallet / mini album page insert

Part of the fun of creating mini albums is to design and create a myriad of nooks & crannies for your album to tuck all kinds of niceness into. You could use those spots for tags, photo mats, folded cards for journalling, etc. etc. To add to your inspiration for these kinds of bonus projects for your mini albums, I’m sharing a fun little micro wallet with you today.

You could of course also use it as an alternative card – just put it into an envelop and send it on its merry way 🙂

For this particular booklet I took my inspiration from one of Kathy Orta’s designs, so if you’d like to create one yourself you can check out her tutorial.

Anyway, here’s my version – with papers by Colors Unlimited.

A cute little all occasions photo booklet

This little booklet is a cute alternative for a card: you can add little tags to write a personal message, and even add some photos or other nice pictures. So, Happy Birthday, or Happy Any Other Occasion! 🙂 It’s also a great alternative for using your scraps – next to, for instance, making scrap mats or other kinds of scrap decorations.

Of course you can make your own little booklet quite easily, feel free to come and get some inspiration from my tutorial for mini booklets if you’ve never made one yourself.

Cute birthday booklet

Although at the moment designing and creating mini albums, cards and altered objects are my main focus when it comes to paper crafting, I really like the occasional mini (or even micro) booklet as well. This one for instance, with its 1 5/8 x 2 1/4 inches (4,3×5,7 cm) is the tiniest I’ve created yet. And it still has pockets & tags! 🙂

I used Madeline design paper by Prima Marketing, the same as with my Madeline cinch mini. This would also make it a great companion piece to this mini, for instance as an alternative birthday card.

Pocket Page mini album + Mini booklet – Bohemian Bazaar

Bohemian Bazaar is one of Graphic 45’s new collections of this summer. The colours are bright and primary, the atmosphere of the collection is… well, I guess you could say Bohemian. Although I was immediately drawn to it and didn’t hesitate to buy it, I suddenly had some doubts once I held it in my hands: was this really as beautiful as I had imagined it?

A love-hate affair was brewing and during the worst of it I had even offered it up for sale on some online marketplace. Lucky for me, there weren’t any interested buyers at the time; lucky, for a couple of weeks later I suddenly liked it again (did I mention it was love-hate?). So, I decided to immediately make good of this positive moment in my hesitant relationship with this paper, and whipped-up another pocket page mini album. Its construction is basically the same as my Little Miss mini.
I keep being amazed at how much a simple change in design paper matters, for this one looks completely different from the Little Miss mini album!

And the great thing is: I absolutely love how this little mini has turned out! Who’da thunk…
In fact, I find it so gorgeous that I can’t even imagine not having liked the paper for even one day. 🙂
Oh, and I threw in a little mini booklet as well, to go along with it as a companion piece, like say, for a birthday card or something. I mean, I couldn’t just throw away all those scraps could I? – Ah, those gorgeous little pieces of paper…. Did I tell you how much I love this paper?

How to make a micro booklet

The more I’m getting the hang of scrapbooking techniques, the more I’ve noticed that I really like designing and creating mini booklets. The tinier the better! They’re not just fun extras in your mini albums, they also make great alternative birthday cards! 🙂

I’m giving you a little “behind the scenes” action for one of my latest micro booklet birthday cards in the video below (click here if you don’t see it). This one I created for a guy, so there’s an extra bonus “gift idea for a guy” for you 😉

I particularly like how it perfectly fits in one of the drawers of the altered drawer box I showed you in one of my previous posts, turning it into a perfect companion piece to go with it – especially since I used the same Graphic 45 design paper stack!

Mini Pocket Fold-out card

The ancestry mini album of one my previous blog posts was commissioned as a birthday gift for my aunt. So I decided that the birthday card I would send to her, would be a companion piece to go with that album. I chose Kathy Orta’s design for what she’s called a mini pocket page and added my own styling – and of course some printed tags (for what I would I do without at least a couple of those!).

This fold-out card is created with only one piece of cardstock!

Anyway, very pleased with the result – this Ancestry paper is so gorgeous btw, I love it!

Fiddlesticks tag booklet

Having finished the Fiddlesticks explosion box (a very special kind of all occasion card, check out my blog post with demo video), I had lots of leftover scraps that were demanding to be used. So you might have guessed I designed a cute little booklet with pockets and tags and went to town with it!

Cute summer booklet

Here’s a cute little booklet of my own design, in the bright summer colours of Uptown Flair design paper by The Paper Studio.
Useable as a gift card holder, or simply as a card holder just like I’m doing here, just using the entire thing as a birthday card.

No distressing this time, just a few embellishments without overdoing it.
