Double Take – a Mini Album for 4×6″ pictures
This week I’m sharing my latest mini album with you all. It’s designed specifically to hold 4×6″ (10×15 cm) pictures, without it being too large or bulky. I always like my albums nice and ready to take with me š
The design collection I used was the lovelyĀ Spring MarketĀ byĀ Carta Bella,Ā sponsored by Scrapworld, an internationally selling papercraft supply store located in the Netherlands.
This is a fun little album, I really enjoyed creating it, and despite of its moderate size it will holdĀ at leastĀ 65 pictures, probably even more!
So check out your purchase options, either the tutorial only, available in my Etsy shop, or the complete kit, which is all the materials PLUS the tutorial, over at Photographs & Memories (available very soon!).
Enjoy the video and leave a comment if you have any questions or remarks to share!
New Adventure: My Own Patterned Paper Templates!
Well, the title is already teasing it: I’ll be expanding on my creative adventures – by designing my own patterned paper templatesĀ and offering them as downloadable printables! š
What that means is that I’m experimenting with digital scrapbooking and graphic design, to come up with my own project templates. And I’m starting off with not one butĀ two Box cardĀ Printables!
Now these are not templates in the sense of having visible cutting & scoring lines or some such. The reason I’m calling it a box card patterned paper template is that you will not need any (!) cardstock to create your box card, because I came up with a double-sided design paper that will work perfectly with the cuts and folds of any box card.
Note that it will take at least medium level paper crafters for the printable to work without a tutorial. Therefore I have added a bonus tutorial and a bonus cutting guide to my regular Box Card Tutorial (#26), specifically for these printable patterned paper templates. Those of you who have already purchased this tutorial are in luck, for they will be able to download the extra guidesĀ at no additional cost! š
I’m calling my new box card patterned paper templateĀ Flowers & Wine.Ā It’s an original design and available in my shop now, for a very small price. You can print it as many times as you like, provided you do so for your own personal use or gift giving. AND as a bonus, you’ll get a freebie!*Ā For there’s a secondĀ printable available with the first, enabling you to make TWO beautiful box cards for the price of ONE!
Simply check out theĀ PrintablesĀ section in my shop.
So, check out the video below and please do let me know what you think! Is this something you would like to see more of?
* I created theĀ freebieĀ printableĀ with elements from the Bring on SummerĀ digital collection by Savi by Design.
Holiday Dreams Album – with Pictures + Printed Journalling
A little while ago I designed and created aĀ Double-Paged Gatefold AlbumĀ that I called Holiday Dreams – or for clarity’s sake, Vacation Dreams. I had some sunny and exotic photos in mind when I created it, and this week I’m happy to be able to share it with you again, but this timeĀ with pictures! š
I’m also sharing a great tip for your largeĀ photo mats: leave themĀ unmattedĀ and turn them into printed journalling – so cool! You can check it all out in the video & pictures below.
If you’d like to create this album yourself with your own materials, you can purchase my very elaborate & clear (written) tutorial – with a huge amount of helpful pictures! – in my shop. Now with a 10% discount for International Scrapbook day (discount offer will end Sunday May 6th, 10PM CET) – just like every other tutorial in my shop!
If you’d like to purchase a kit with the Ubud Dreams paper collection that I used, plus lots of embellishments, check out the Photographs & Memories webshop, which offers a complete kit INCLUDING my tutorial! šĀ It is US based so will hopefully be very convenient for people in the North Americas, shipping-wise.
New Design: Envelope Folio Albums!
The envelope mini album is a fairly well-known phenomenon in the scrapbooking world, but this week I’m sharing my own unique design variety, which I’m calling theĀ Envelope Folio Album.
I designed two different versions, mostly by accident for I aimed at only one š, and while I was at it I prepared two pdf tutorials, which I’m offering as one tutorial set. Take advantage of the EASTER SALE I’m running until Monday April 2nd, for you’ll get a 15% discount on all of my tutorials!
Each of my spring-themed Envelope Folio Albums consists of eight envelopes, either square or rectangular – that’s up to you – and only a little bit of cardstock for the photo mats & wallets.
The square one is perfect for your 6×6″ paper pads – I don’t know about you but I have like aĀ tonĀ of those in my stash! – and for the rectangular one only 7 sheets of 12×12″ design paper are enough. So both iterations of this design keep the costs of creating them relatively low, especially when compared to a mini album!
These designs are really fun, for they offer lots of hidden nooks & crannies for pictures and memorabilia, for they sport lots of flaps and pockets. They make great original gifts and are of course easily customizable by simply choosing papers & embellishments in the theme of your choosing.
Feel free to leave your questions in the comment section! š
Happy Easter,Ā enjoy this new spring!
Zoo Adventure – a Folders & Pockets Album
I was pondering a new design of mini album, one that would not only be able to hold a lot of pictures, but would also make it easy to add still more pictures that you forgot in your first round of filling the album. Eventually I came up with this week’s project: theĀ Folders & Pockets Album!Ā
With this fun new designĀ you’ll be able to shuffle the pictures in your album at any moment, and add to their number endlessly. Also, of course, these same folders and pockets offer plenty of easy room for your tickets, receipts and other memorabilia! No more tedious glueing your pictures to the pages,Ā just stick them into the folders and pockets and be done with itĀ š
Check out the video below to see it! If you’d like some more inspiration, check out the second version I created, with a completely different theme and papers. And if you feel inspired to create your own, as a gift or for yourself, please check out the written tutorial – with almost 250 clear pictures and easy-to-follow instructions.
Have fun, see you next week!
Gift idea: Mini Album Card!
Special occasions require special cards, and with this interactive wallet card you can go many directions. To give you some examples, my first card of this design had an Encouragement theme, the second version commemorated the first year since my father’s passing.
This week I’m sharing a third way you can use this card: as a mini album card, to send (or give in person) someone some pictures of dearly remembered moments you shared with them! Which is perfect for someone who really already has everything they ever wanted – I mean do you really need to give them more ‘stuff’? I’m convinced that memories in the form of pictures – nicely done up – will always be much appreciated, and also add that extra personal touch to your gifts.
This design offers room for 6-8 pictures and of course a personal message.
So, hope to have inspired you, let me know what you think in the comments! š
Stacks of Love: a Stacked Page Mini Album – Tutorial version
Several weeks ago I shared my firstĀ stacked page mini album with you, an experiment with a different kind of binding system than I had been used to. For instead of the hidden hinge system, this one is based on stacked pages – hence the name… š
It is not my invention, I’m not sure whose it is. I’m guessing it’s most likely based on Laura Denison’sĀ stack the deckĀ binding system, on which someone then elaborated.
Anyway, I did add a personal flavour, for my stacked page albums haveĀ twelveĀ pages instead of the usual six – so 24 page surfaces! – but with a regular-sized spine. You can see the first iteration of this album in the above-mentioned earlier blog post, created with the Domestic GoddessĀ collection byĀ 7 Dots Studio.
This week I’m sharing the version on which IĀ based myĀ tutorial. This album is somewhat larger, has more elaborateĀ page designs and sports several photo mats and tags, the latter – among others – by Crealies. The albumĀ was made with Prima Marketing’s lovelyĀ Tales of You & MeĀ collection. I’m calling this version the ‘Stacks of Love’ mini album š
The tutorial is listedĀ in my Etsy shop. It is a (written) English language tutorial with measurements in centimetersĀ andĀ inches. It isĀ 130 pages long and holds 324 clear pictures aimed atĀ visual learners. As a bonus itĀ also contains the main measurements for theĀ Domestic GoddessĀ version!
Moreover,Ā I’m very happy to be able to point you to the kit that is available for this album as well! Go to the (US-based!) Photographs and Memories online store, where you will find kits for several of my projects, including this one.
So enjoy the video and please feel free to leave a little note below, in the comment section š
A Double-paged Keepsake Album
I designed this new mini album around threeĀ criteria: its dimensions should beĀ something like 15×15 cm (6×6″),Ā Ā it should have two spines and each spine should holdĀ its own set of pages.
My creative process ended up with me coming up withĀ this 14.5×17 cm (5Ā¾ x 6Ā¾”) gatefold mini album, in the fresh colors of Kaisercraft’s Ubud DreamsĀ collectionĀ – colors thatĀ remind me of the sea and small mediterranean villages š Which is why I’m dubbingĀ this my Holiday Dreams keepsake album.
And guess what,Ā UbudĀ turns out to be a town on the Indonesian island of Bali! Okay, so not the Mediterranean but still: Holidays galore š
The album holds seven interactive page assemblies with all new page designs, four attached to the left spine and three to the right; the inside covers offer even moreĀ room for pictures.
If you can’t wait to make this album yourself, check out the (written)Ā tutorialĀ which is available inĀ my Etsy shop. š
NEW: There’s also aĀ kit available at Photographs & Memories online webshop! ThisĀ includes my tutorialĀ at no additional cost!
Enjoy the video and pictures below and let me know what you think in the comment section! See you next week! :-).
Timeless – a Fun & Unique Wallet Card
A while ago I designed an interactive wallet card that perfectly fits your 6×6″ paper pads. It takes 9-10 sheets of paper for one card – which is perfect especially if you like projects that help you destash a bit (for all of you Paper Hoarders in denial out there š ).
For the first editionĀ of this card I used a Kaisercraft paper collection, which I like because practically all of theirĀ collections come with die-cuts and sentiment ATC cards. That is why I choseĀ KaisercraftĀ for this second wallet card as well. TheĀ Time Machine collection is a mostly masculine collection – stunning with its sophisticated darks and teals andĀ beautiful specialty papers.
So go ahead and take a look; if you’d like to create it yourself, check out myĀ tutorial on Etsy.
Happy Easter – With a Pocket-style Card Constructed from One Sheet of Cardstock!
It’s springtime! š Although it’s still pretty cold where I live here in the Netherlands, you can already feel a certain ‘softness’ in the air as days are lengthening and nature is preparing to wake up. I don’t know about you, but I’m totally game for spring!
And this year we’ll have a fairly early Easter. Normally I don’t send out any Easter cards (it’s simply not a Dutch tradition) but this year I felt like letting at least a couple of people know that I’m thinking about them and wish them some great times with the upcoming holiday.
I found this lovely sheet of paper by We R Memory Keepers, from their Cotton Tail collection, and it immediately took my thoughts to all the wonderful things that make up springtime and Easter.
So in the spirit of spring, I decided to design something new. I challenged myself to use only one piece of 12×12 inch cardstock for the construction of this card! Of course you will need some extra materials, but not a lot and the main items on that list are 1 extra sheet of cardstock for tags (A4 will suffice), and 1 sheet of 12×12 inch design paper. That’s about it! This design will enable you to create an elaborate and interactive card that is still quite affordable in terms of the supplies you need – awesome right?! š
Also, this card is perfect for more than one sentiment and personalized message, it can function as a gift card holder and it will come in very handy as a vehicle for a group gift, when a group of people are giving one gift together.
And last but not least, you could also use it as a mini album page insert!
Good news: I’m making this design available to you all in my Etsy shop – and like the card itself this tutorial is also very affordable, so check it out!
And here’s the show & tell video, enjoy and let me know what you think!
