Here’s a layout I did for a colleague who was leaving the organization I work at, to start her new job. By way of goodbye, each team member was asked to contribute something A4-sized, after which everything would be bundled into a binder and gifted to the colleague.
Since this colleague was always dressed in beautifully bright and colorful outfits, I wanted to create something bright and colorful for her. I decided to shop my stash for some Prima Marketing, for this brand usually brings out A4-sized paper within all or most of their collections.
I decided on the Zephyr collection, chose a tangerine-colored base paper and two lovely Zephyr journalling cards, and layered them with some die-cuts, a chipboard piece, some blings and some wallet-sized pictures. Done! 🙂
If you have some smaller pieces of design paper, use them to die-cut!
Today I thought I’d share a How To video of the most recent of my (very) rare layouts. I’m not your typical mixed media artist (I wish I were, but alas…); instead I’m a design paper collection kit fan girl and I enjoy having everything come together just so, showcasing the colors and materials.
To show you how my creative process works, I cut together a process video for you, which of course I sped up extremely, to bring hours back to minutes. The collection I used was Butterfly by Prima Marketing, and the layout centers around two shabby chic ballet pictures that I printed from my Ballet Pinterest board. This is what Scrapbooking really is all about 👌🏽
So enjoy the video, I hope to inspire you with a different way of working on layouts – namely relishing in your fandom of your design paper collection kits! 🙂
And if you really want to go all out, then give your layout a plain wooden frame and paint & spray ink that in coordinating colors 🙂
Today I’m sharing a little layout with my lovely mom as its center of attention 🙂 .
I used Kaisercraft’s wonderfully feminine and slightly oriental Ma Cherie paper collection for this fun little project, which has a chipboard base and measures only 6×6 inches (15×15 cm) instead of the usual 12×12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm).
This smaller size makes it a very practical gift, for not everyone has room in their homes and hearts for a relatively large addition to their interior decorations – especially when the gift is a complete surprise. A smaller size is a lot less threatening and – more importantly – a lot easier to assign a nice little spot to somewhere in their house.
On the creator’s side, the small size makes for the perfect opportunity to use the 6×6″ (15×15 cm) cutaparts that sometimes come with collections, like the Fine sheet in this Ma Cherie paper line.

I embellished my mini layout with some Ma Cherie Collectables die-cuts, some flowers from my stash and some Stickles. I also fussy-cut two butterflies from the Exquisite sheet of the collection.

All in allI was very pleased with the end result – and more importantly, so was my mom! 🙂 So enjoy the video and pictures, and feel free to let me know what you think!
Curled up the lower left corner, added the word “treasured” that I cut from one of the sheets, then decorated the rest of the corner with some flowers and die-cut leaves. I also added two Collectables die-cuts right above the curled up paper.
Added a simple hanging mechanism, which I got in a home improvement store (very affordable!)
As of yet scrapbook layouts have not been my core business when it comes to paper crafting, but I do love to do them when inspiration hits me. For some examples of my personal style, may like to check out my layout-in-altered-frame, but also my two calendars: 12 months of Place in Time, and 12 months of Time to Flourish.
The focus of this new layout is my mother’s dog Nita, a beautiful black labrador mix. The picture itself immediately reminded me of Kaisercraft’s Limelight paper collection, which echoed the green and black, plus the white florals. A perfect fit!
After two projects (a mini album and a tea box) I’m still in love with working with Graphic 45’s beautifully colored Raining Cats & Dogs paper collection. So I created three cards with this same collection – the 4th of October was, after all, World Animal Day, so hey. 😉
All cards are (what I call) double layout cards, which have layered layouts both on the front and on the inside. Of course you can’t put too much bulk on the inside, but the collection offers plenty of non-bulky ephemera as well, like chipboard, die-cut flowers and tags & pockets.
So here we go, with two dog-themed cards and one aimed at cat lovers. Hope you feel inspired! 🙂

Last week I shared a so-called Eternal Calendar with you, usable for as many years as you please. Otherwise known as a birthday calendar 😉 – although as long as the actual calendar part is replaceble, like mine, you could do an actual calendar (where the dates actually match the weekdays).
As I shared with you in my previous blogpost. I’m actually creating two versions of this type of layout calendar, one for my mom and one for myself. I’ll share them both, in three or four parts:

I don’t have many New Year’s resolutions, but here’s one: I want to open a webshop this year – and I don’t mean my current Shop page, but a “real” webshop.
Maybe through Etsy’s or a comparable webshop provider. This is a huge challenge for me, for I have to figure out everything for myself, build the webshop and, most importantly and biggest challenge of all, FILL the webshop with products! Which when I start will primarily consist of downloadable tutorials for my projects. So, great plans and I hope you guys will stay tuned! 🙂

Part 1: Place in Time: January – June – postedhere
Here’s my very first framed layout, which I created in memory of my father. In this season of Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for who he was all through my life.
I bought an Artemio 12×12 scrapbook frame, glued one of Bo Bunny’s gorgeous Autumn Song design paper sheets to its back, and got to work. I used several extras of the collection, like brads, pearl & bling stickers, trinkets, die-cuts, chipboard stickers etc. I also used some flowers from my stash, and a lot of cute autumn decorative pieces that I found in one of our home & garden shops.
I took care to include things my father loved: a sparrow, a bird’s nest, several butterflies, a cute little cartoonesk squirrel, flowers and lots of bright and warm colors.
The picture is very special to me, for it’s kind of a family moment even though it’s just my father. For my father and I were sitting outside, having some quality time while drinking a cup of coffee at one of the lunch rooms in the city I live in, and when I took this picture he was on the phone with my mom. So in a sense, we were all together, the three of us 🙂
Recently I visited an animal shelter with a colleague, which was a very special experience. My colleague and I wanted to send them a Thank You note, which I created using Graphic 45’s very suitable Raining Cats & Dogs design paper. I created a double card, with a layout on the inside as well.
Although Raining Cats & Dogs isn’t a Thanksgiving paperline specifically, it’s great to use it as such anyway!
The leftover scraps I used to create a cute little birthday card for a (different) friend/colleague. So enjoy, and see for yourself how gorgeous this new G45 paperline is!
Remember the little autumn-themed ultra mini album I showed you a couple of blog posts ago? I had created it with the leftover scraps of a larger, regular-sized mini album that I was working on. Well, I’ve finished that one and I’m very happy to share the results! 🙂
This 6×6 mini album is Cinch-bound, it has TEN page assemblies with 42 (!) photo layouts, a lot of diecuts by me, plus a lot of extra embellishments. The page construction was very very simple, so I’ve incorporated a short page tutorial as well.
The paper collection I used is Autumn Song by Bo Bunny – of which I totally forgot to film a walkthrough before I started the project, but there’s a link to Amazon below should you be interested in this collection, which is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for this time of year!
This mini album is all about Shalem, my French lop who passed away two years ago. So I decorated the front cover of the album with a picture of him, but before I had the photo printed, I did some digital editing first! I cut Shalem from his original background (the grass in my garden) and then pasted him into a fantasy fall landscape that I found on the internet somewhere. In the lower right corner I digitally wrote his name and dates of birth/death. So before we go to the video, here’s a close-up of the album’s front cover:

This ultra mini album is a bit smaller than the other ultra minis I’ve created so far. It’s completely of my own design – a design that is actually so simple that I included a short but sufficient tutorial in the video below.
What was new for me was the layout technique: I filled the mini album with pictures, then added all kinds of cuteness like diecuts, brads, dimensional stickers etc. So hardly any interaction, no pockets, no tags – instead, lots of embellishments and decorations, on a foundation of Bo Bunny’s gorgeous Autumn Song collection.
Since this is the final part of Mini Album Month, I also included an overview of all four mini album projects of this month. I really enjoyed showing you a mini album every week, and I really hope you did too! 🙂
