Mailable Photo Stand with Dapper

Leftover pieces of chipboard are ideal to create all kinds of nice trinkets and keepsakes. Like, for example, a mailable photo stand. I created this one for my mom, with some nice memories of my dad. So I again used Tim Holtz’s masculine-themed Dapper collection, printed and cropped four pictures and decorated to my heart’s desire.

As for the paper, I used 10 ATC cards, so this project is also perfect for your leftover Project Life cards or journalling cards!

Enjoy the video!

Let me know if you’d like me to do a (free) tutorial for this little photo stand! (even years after this post is fine with me, just drop me line or leave a comment – I’m always in for new blog and/or video ideas 🙂 )

Folders & Pockets Mini Album: Go, See, Explore

This week I’m sharing the wonder of repeating a previous design with different decorative papers. What a huge difference! And it’s really the very same album design. The original album was my Zoo Adventure folders & pockets mini album, created with an ever colorful Graphic 45 collection called Safari Adventure. This new iteration is a travel version with masculine overtones, using Echo Park’s Go, See, Explore collection. I created it at the request of Scrapworld / Scrapwereld, who also sponsored the materials.

Hope to have inspired you to play around with different design paper collections for you’ll get completely different albums from your one album design! 🙂

Check out the album tutorial available in my shop. Plus, below you’ll find embedded the free video tutorial on the sewed booklets.

City Lights Card

Here’s an idea for a birthday card for a man. It has style, is on trend, is magnetized, and there’s no girly fuss 😉 . As a bonus, it is fairly easy and quick to make!

Supply list

  • 1 sheet of cardstock, A4 or 30.5 x 30.5 cm (12×12″)
  • 1 double-sided sheet of design paper. I used the Dreamer collection by 7 Dots Studio, the sheet is called City Lights.
  • 1 magnet, 1 washer/thin metal disc (or: 2 magnets)
  • 2 brads
  • Kaisercraft birthday stamp
  • Stampendous birthday stamp
  • wet glue
  • double-sided tape
  • corner rounder or corner chomper
  • distress ink. I used Black Soot by Tim Holtz.
  • paper trimmer
  • scoring tool
  • bone folder

Tutorial

Feel free to let me know if you’d like me to do a (free) tutorial for this type of card! (even years after this post is fine with me, just drop me line or leave a comment – I’m always in for new blog and/or video ideas 🙂 )

Great gift for a guy: Craftsman Chest

It’s always more difficult to come up with an original gift idea for a man than it is for a woman. I find altering some wooden object a great solution! It’s functional, it has added interest because it usually has some moving parts, like a lid or drawers, and with the right paper you can create quite the masculine project!

Like this little Craftsman Chest here, which by the way has its own little refrigerator magnet as a bonus 🙂 – perfect for hiding one or more giftcards. And, therefore, also perfect to give a present together with other people: they can all put their giftcards into this little chest!
