Travel Light Folio Sequel: Say Cheese!

My first Say Cheese projects utilized a mix of the first and second versions of the collection, but this week it’s all about Say Cheese III. The Say Cheese collection by Simple Stories has been so successful that they came out not only with a second iteration (Say Cheese II) but also the abovementioned third. All three are very modern and fun collections with a black, red, white, yellow and skyblue color palet. They’re centered around – though subtly – a Disney theme, specifically, Disneyland.

I chose to recreate my Travel Light photo folio with the Say Cheese (III) papers. I designed it last year and it was aimed at an easy way to store and enjoy vacation memories. The papers that I incorporated then had a very vintage feel, thanks to the older K&Company collection called simply Travel. As always it was a wonderful surprise to see what that same design looked like with a completely different paper collection.

This project was sponsored by Scrapworld (also known in Dutch as Scrapwereld), whose owner is also the brand ambassador for Simple Stories in Europe. She was very kind to supply me with the materials for this folio.

This time I created the folio with 12×12 inch cardstock, instead of A4, which is why I added a companion tutorial to the original one in my shop. The Easiest Mini Albums Ever Made

Creating mini albums can be quite a lot of work, demanding precision, dedication and, above all, time. Which is why I decided to go the other way this time, and set out to create what I wanted to be the easiest mini albums ever made, while still deserving of the name mini album. I wanted to be able to finish them within 2-3 hours, while not needing a lot of materials and tools. Also, they needed to be able to hold a reasonable amount of pictures.

Today I’m sharing the results of my experiment – which were a success for these mini albums are in fact so simple that no tutorial is required! The only things you need are the materials and some tools:

  • double-sided design paper
  • very light-weight chipboard (or heavy cardstock)
  • paper trimmer
  • wire binding tool like the Cinch or the Bind-It-All.

The largest of the albums will hold up to 68 pictures, the smaller one about 25.

Pocketstyle Birthday Card

Today I’m sharing a second iteration of one of my wallet card designs. I used the Simple Stories Say Cheese collection, including some tags and cutaparts, to create a lovely birthday card. The bright, high-contrast colors of this paper line make it very suitable for winter birthdays – like my friend’s, who has her birthday in February. So I printed some fun birthday sentiments on the large tags – though you could also do some stamping or even use them as photo mats. The inside of the card offers room for journaling or a personal birthday message.

Although I used several sheets of design papers to decorate, this type of card will also allow you to use only one sheet of double-sided design paper – to see how that might look, check out last year’s Easter iteration!. That way you won’t need much more than two pieces of cardstock and one sheet of design paper!

All in all it was a very fun project which I enjoyed creating just as much as the first one, so check out the affordable tutorial if you’d like to create one too!
